Track and field delegation sets off to the
C.A.C.-Age Group Championship
In EL SALVADOR



Oranjestad,
Wednesday 4th of July 2007 a track and field team consisting of young athletes between the ages 10 and 13 of which 4 boys and 4 girls set off to El Salvador. In El Salvador these athletes will represent Aruba at the C.A.C. Age Group Championship 2007 which will be held on the 6th and 7th of July. The participants at the “Central American & the Caribbean Age Group Championship” are from the Caribbean Islands and countries in Central America. Each country, no less than 14 will be participating with eight athletes, each of these athletes has to compete individually in all the following events corresponding to their age group: High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, 60 / 80m Sprint, 800m, 1000m, 1200m and Hurdles.
The athletes of the Aruban team who underwent an intensive training and have demonstrated their discipline are:
In the category 10 / 11 years: Reginald Koc, Ludeson Jean Baptiste, Jelissa Nedd, Annelaine Jacobs
In the category 11 / 12 years: Michael Geerman, Ashneal Werleman, Amber James, Ginella Albertus
Accompanying the athletes are their appointed coach, Mr. Kenneth Lucas assisted by Mr. Juan Dake, and as delegation chief and chaperone Mrs. Virginia Dirksz. Traveling together with the athletes are a group of supporters consisting of parents and family members who will be cheering-on our athletes.
The Arubaanse Atletiek Bond wishes the delegation of athletes all the best at the CAC Age Group Championship 2007.
