Final results:
A Silver medal was awarded to Shane Nedd for his achievement of a distance of 14.96m on the Shot Put .
Shane also bettered his personal Carifta Games record increasing the Shot Put from 13.99m (in 2006) to 14.96m, and hereby also setting a new Junior record for Aruba

Edgar Cornet a complete newcomer at the Carifta Games, in spite of limited preparation achieved a time of 51.82 sec on the 400m-dash, also improving his personals best. His dedication to the 400m-dash event was clearly visible and paid off.

Charlene Leslie, a mere 14 years old but meanwhile well known on the high-jump event, competed in the category under 17 and reached a height of 1.60 meters. She improved her height with 15 centimeters compared to the Carifta Games of 2006. With this height Charlene ended up 6th out of 16 athletes.

Michael Rasmijn the last athlete to compete at the Carifta Games 2007 for the Aruba Team sets a time of 2:05.33 on the 800m.
Less than six months ago Michael’s time on this event was 2:12.6 thus a great improvement, which sets him at the seventh position (out of 10) in this years Carifta Games on this event. And most of all Micheal’s result also lead to a new Junior record for Aruba on the 800m.

"Four young athletes, one silver medal and all with improved personal performances is promising for the next Carifta Games"

The Aruba Athletic Federation congratulates all four athletes for their achievements, especially Shane Nedd with his silver medal.
